In order to register to attend SEMC 2025, all participants (Authors and Non-Authors alike) must (i) submit a completed registration form, and (ii) remit the applicable registration fee. The registration fee will differ, depending on whether one is an Author of a paper or a Non-Author participant. The applicable rates are indicated on the registration form (see link below). The rates have been fixed in Euro, but local participants may make payment in equivalent South African Rands, while international participants have a choice of remitting the registration fee either in Euro (as indicated) or in equivalent US Dollars.

The registration fee will cover a full set of the published SEMC 2025 Proceedings, attendance at all plenary and parallel sessions of the Conference, the Welcome Reception, the Conference Dinner, as well as lunches and refreshments throughout the Conference.

The final deadline for registration for attendance at the Conference is 30 April 2025 for Authors of papers, and 30 June 2025 for Non-Author participants. Early registration is encouraged for both Authors and Non-Authors; there is an early-bird discount for Authors and Non-Authors who register before 28 February 2025. To encourage participation by students, a reduced registration rate is offered to all fulltime research students who intend to attend the Conference and present a paper. To qualify for this rate, proof of full-time student status as at 1 September 2025 will be required.

Only papers of Authors who have registered will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Authors of papers will need to plan to register by 30 April 2025 in order to ensure that their papers are included in the published Proceedings. In this regard, a single registration will cover the publication of not more than 2 papers. If an Author wishes to submit 3 or more papers, an extra charge will be payable, unless one or more co-authors will also register to attend the conference.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds on cancellations will be subject to a deduction to cover administration costs and bank charges. The deduction shall be 15% of the registration fee paid if the cancellation is notified before 15 May 2025. No refunds shall be given for any cancellations made after 15 May 2025, but in the event of a previously registered delegate being unable to attend the conference for whatever reason, it will be acceptable to have another person attending in his or her place.
