Summary: The aim of this special session is to report on recent advances and successful applications of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and damage identification for earthquake, civil, mechanical and aerospace structures and infrastructure. The session deals with theoretical and computational issues and applications, and welcomes contributions that cover, but are not limited to, SHM algorithms for identification and damage identification, stochastic simulation techniques for uncertainty quantification/propagation, real time monitoring systems and projects, experimental techniques for in-situ health monitoring, instrumentation and measurement methods and tools, optimal sensor location, experimental tests, integration of SHM in procedures for risk assessment and emergency management, and value of SHM information. SEMC 2022 will be the ideal forum for sharing the results of the most recent scientific research. The expected attendance of key players from both the development and the application side will ensure that this session will offer a real state-of-the-art view of SHM.
